I am very pleased that the OCA is organising a Study Visit to Photomonth East London Photography Festival on 24th October. The visit will take in my exhibition and two others which form part of the festival. The provisional plan is to visit the following venues:
Lifting the Curtain at Town House Spitalfields, see Lifting the Curtain
DRIFT at the Truman Brewery, see DRIFT
Syd Shelton at Rivington Place, Shoreditch, see Syd Shelton
The suggestion is that we meet at 11.15 the Truman Brewery. If the group is large we will split into two groups. Group one visits the Drift exhibition for an hour. Group two visits the Town House. After one hour at each venue the groups could change over. At 1.30 everyone could walk up Brick Lane and have a bite to eat reconvening at Autograph APB in Rivington Place for Syd Shelton. So the finish time will be around 3.30pm. Those who are enthusiastic can plan visits to some other events also. A full programme is available at Photomonth. Here is a map of the venues…
As an aside OCA will be featuring some of my work in a forthcoming advert in the British Journal of Photography. I have chosen the signature image from Lifting the Curtain for this ad….every bit of promotion helps…

I’m really looking forward to seeing LTC on the gallery wall. I work not too far from the gallery so will pop in one lunchtime. Are you having a pv?

Yes there is a PV but I have offered a large number of the places on the evening to Toynbee Hall. I want a lot of rich lawyers to come along and buy. It is only a small venue and that’s one of the reasons why I am having a separate OCA visit as I will be able to accommodate more folks and also give a talk to the students in a way that would not be possible at a PV.

It would be lovely if you could pop in. Let me know and I’ll do my best to be there. Do you think you will come on the Study Visit?
