After what seems like a very long, enjoyable and highly instructive time, I have reached the final hurdle. Tomorrow I deliver my final assessment submission for the Photography 3: Your Own Portfolio course to the Open College of Arts in Barnsley. Here is the A1 Plax folder standing by my front door waiting to be delivered…
For those interested in the detail here is my introduction which presents a summary of what is in the submission…
It has been a great journey. I embarked on it with the idea of improving my technical skill as a photographer. I leave the course with so much more than just skills. I will post my reflections on the course to the blog soon.
I still have lots to do to complete the public presentation of Lifting the Curtain. Planning for my exhibition in October has started. The event is listed on the East London International Photography Festival Schedule. I have yet to map out the layout of the exhibition and to work through how I will market the event. I hope to sell prints to raise more money for Toynbee Hall. This in itself is a new development for me. My Lifting the Curtain book has sold well. I now only have five copies left out of the original edition of 40.
My plan is to continue to use photo-graph.org to record my photographic experiences, so this is not the end for this blog. Watch this space…

Well done Keith! I know I won’t be alone in wishing the very best for assessment, though I suspect you will be very very well without it. And to also thank you for all the support you have provided me (and others) with your generous approach to sharing your experience. I know we will continue to find ways of meeting, not least at your exhibition PV?

It looks enormous! So much work and thought has gone into it. I’m also sure that you won’t need luck really because the quality of your work has always spoken for itself. Pleased as well that you’ll be keeping in touch and there’s the Exhibition still to come.

Small compared to my Advanced submission…he he. Of course I will keep in touch… hope from time to time to join the discussions and to join up for gallery visits and so on… And of course you will be invited to my exhibition private view…

I bet it feel’s weird Keith. I hate the end of projects and get quite deflated for a bit. Good luck for assessment.

Nice to see the last package heading out the door! Though there is always a wistful sadness for a moment…
Congratulations on getting here! At some point it might be nice to see an unpacking of what is in that big black package.

Best of luck Keith, though I doubt you will need it. I was also thinking that this is small compared to your YOP presentation! 😉 I am happy to hear you will be sticking around and am looking forward to receiving my copy of the book.

Good luck for assessment, Keith. I know you will do well. If you do take up an MA with the OCA I hope you will continue to share your progress with us.

Congratulations on finishing and good luck with the assessment although having seen your work first-hand it speaks volumes for itself so no luck needed I think. I have so enjoyed seeing the progress of your final stages with OCA and I have learned a lot from you which has been really appreciated.
