Following Vicki’s comments on the previous images I have re-worked the post processing for the ‘normal’ images. I have now used some motion blur to simulate the effect of the Pinhole lens. In fact with the pinhole the blurriness will come from both lens diffraction and movement of the subject. But this now seems a lot closer. Having looked again at the images I am now struck by the wider eyes that seem to result from the longer exposure….

Really prefer the composites in this set/repost—they seem more real, less furry—I am able to compare easier. Others might disagree.

I agree with Vicki. I certainly prefer this set. The motion blur added makes the ‘normal’ ones look more natural. Overall though I prefer the long exposure ones. A fascinating experiment Keith.

I agree too. I have been thinking that these would work better if I made one of the portraits for a shorter exposure than the other. This would make it more obvious that I have moved during the overall exposure. Thanks for your thoughts.
